Bobby Jindal: Second Amendment Rights Apply Wherever You're Legally Allowed To Be

One week after a gunman opened fire, killing two people in a Lafayette, Louisiana, movie theater, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said people should be allowed to carry guns anywhere, including movie theaters.

During a segment on July 29 on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” Blitzer asked whether Jindal agreed with his fellow GOP presidential candidate, former Gov. Rick Perry of Texas. Blitzer was referring to Perry’s statement on July 26 that people should be allowed to carry guns in movie theaters and other places, reports The Hill.

“I'm a big believer that where you are legally allowed to be, you should be able to have your Second Amendment rights as well” Jindal told Blitzer. “There are private property issues, I understand that. Somebody has a right to say what they want to do with their property, but I think the fewer restrictions on law-abiding citizens, the better for them and the better for our country.”
