It's official - elections ARE at risk of being rigged by hackers, admits Homeland Security secretary as he ramps up security


U.S. security officials are increasingly concerned about the threat online hackers may pose to the patchwork U.S. electoral system.

'We are actively thinking about election cyber security right now,' Homeland Security secretary Jeh Johnson told reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast Wednesday.

Complicating the task are the 9,000 different electoral jurisdictions in the U.S. Some states allow people to vote by mail, others have widespread use of electronic voting machines, and many jurisdictions are hybrids.  More
