School District Forced To Put Signs Up In Classrooms Telling Students They Don’t Have To Recite Pledge Of Allegiance

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Florida - A Florida school district is being forced to put up signs in its classrooms reminding students they don’t have to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

Tim Wyrosdick, superintendent of the Santa Rosa schools, told WEAR-TV that the signs need to be put up after a student and a parent complained about the pledge earlier this year.

“I was raised to honor this country and respect it,” Wyrosdick said. “Standing for the pledge is not only a requirement, it’s a privilege that we stand and pledge allegiance to the United States of America. That’s my personal belief and my moral belief.”  More
