Gay activist George Takei apologizes for referring to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as 'clown in blackface'

George Takei apologized Friday for referring to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as a "clown in blackface."

The "Star Trek" star ripped into Thomas following the jurist's dissenting vote against gay marriage last week. 

Takei said Thomas does not belong on the Supreme Court and is a "disgrace" to America.

The 78-year-old Takei said he was particularly irate about Thomas "suggesting that the government cannot take away human dignity through slavery, or though internment," the longtime actor and gay activist wrote on Facebook on Friday.  More
